Read reviews and learn how to use this, it's a back up knife, not an everyday use knife. It is as advertised, light, small and sharp. Once you adjust the knot on the back, you're good to go. Mine actually came with a cord lock type lanyard, which was pretty nice, alot nicer than the red cord from the pictures. It also came with a survival tin and reccomendations for what to put in the kit. I've carried an Altiods tin kit for over 10 years now, and it's always been handy. Start collecting what you want for your kit now! This thing was intended to fit in the tin, sheathed so it's up to you whether to wear it or store it.Okay one quick beef with this item: The sheath did not retain the blade. I bought two of them, one was perfect and held the knife quite well, the other was loose and I almost lost it the first day I had it. I took a hammer and a flat punch and hit the pins that hold the sheath together and the blade sticks... It is comfortable enough that I forget it is there until I have the need for it. I usually remove it before I go to bed. However, there have been a few nights that I have slept with it around my neck and did not even notice until morning. The knife does lock very securely into the sheath. I can remove it with one hand when needed, but most of the time I use both hands with one holding the sheath. The knife comes sharp and seems to hold an edge well, although it could be easily sharpened. With the attached strap, it feels secure in my hand while using it. I do not believe it would easily slip out of my grasp. It was easy to add a small fire steel device to the lanyard, in case I need to use them both to start a fire. This is an item that I will almost always keep with me or very close by. |
