MY ORIGINAL REVIEW WAS FOR NIKWAX AQUEOUS WAX TREATMENT, NOT SURE HOW IT MIGRATED TO THIS PRODUCTThat said, I've tried several Nikwax products and they are all good. I'm probably more demanding of my footwear than most. I hike in the winter, dog sled, sled, build igloos, and generally spend a lot of time with my boots in wet snow and mud. I've tried silicone sprays and treatments - useless except for keeping mud and salt stains off your dress shoes. I was using SnoSeal and Edelrid DrySkin or Mink Oil but have found this stuff to be a lot better, easier to apply and more durable. I use Nikwax aqueous wax on my dress shoes, you can get a decent shine on top of the AW. I've also used it on gloves (Grandoe Sympatex) with success. You can apply to wet leather which makes it very handy since applying mink oil or the other heavy grease treatments to wet leather is useless. I was spraying my dress shoes outside, and left it out to dry. In less than half an hour it started raining, so I zoomed out to retrieve my shoes. Well i sprayed this stuff on the wet, clean shoe and i waited about 20 minutes to dry and it worked pretty good beaded up all the water, i also sprayed on the shoelaces (wet) and i waited all night for that to dry and i was surprised to see that it actually beaded away all the water from the shoelaces. I havnt done any serious watering to it but so far it works well, overall i would buy this again. |
