There are some things which, in my opinion, set this stove above many of the other little backpacking stoves. For one thing,it has a nice wide footprint with wide pot/pan supports, and it sits on the ground/table, not teetering on top a tank. This makes the stove much more stable than most others, even some of the expensive systems out there (most of which stand tall and narrow - inviting one to spill one's beans, so to speak).I also like the wider diameter burner on this stove which provides more distributed heat, not so much of a hot spot in the centre of one's pot/pan. The piezoelectric ignition is a wonderful thing (but always have in reserve alternate methods of lighting and fire starting, matches, bic lighters, and of course, the old backup systems such as firesteels, etc.). Received it on time, opened it and my first thought was "thing is built like a tank!" I was not expecting much for under $20 bucks. Non the less it is a tad heavier than the more expensive ones of the same class/type of stove. Flame control on this thing is awesome for the price. No plastic parts at all, feels very solid.Flame diameter is larter than the MSR Pocket Rocket type stoves for those that like to simmer and not concentrate the heat into a narrow spot of your cooking ware. Would I recommend this? For 20 bucks? heck yes if you dont take it Backpacking make a Fondue cooking set out of it with that type of flame control lol. I was going to take one star off because it is just a tad heavier than more expensive (same type) stoves.
