This is a good, quality pack and I own several packs. I recently used this pack for a couple of day hikes while geocaching with my daughter. We hiked for about 8 miles on one trip and about 4 miles on another....on trails, off trails, and across the Etowah River. It took a beating on these trips with no problems.What I like about this pack: - Not too big, but large enough for essentials - Lots of pockets and separate areas for "things" - Lots of loops and hooks for carabiners, etc. - Easy to adjust for comfort - Map flap...love a place for my maps - Durability (good material and zippers) If you like to organize and separate all of your gear, this bag is a good choice. The Redwing is my 1st Kelty I/F pack and it appears to be the same level of quality. Great design and a bargain to boot. Held enough gear for a 3 day weekend, but would have been tight for an overnite hike. Move up to the 50 litre pack for that capability. Pack needed lashpoints on the bottom for a sleep pad/tent and a small pocket on the waist belt would have been nice. Very comfortable and adjusts well.
