My one complaint is that the back of the shoe angles back and really irritated the top of my ankle. I wore these with low socks and ended up bloody. I wore them with thick socks and went on a hike without an issue. These shoes (for my 8.5 size feet were too big. I ordered larger due to the ratings and returned these. I also ordered the 8.5 and kept those. The inner material is NOT soft - and thick is better than thin, when it comes to socks ...I wear these to avoid blisters (medium weight) injinji Performance Mini Crew Toesocks) ... So I'm keeping the 8.5. VERY LITTLE support in these shoes... my feet ache after hours of walking but no blisters either.
