I loved the increased comfort over my old Thermorest and that it gave extra insulation on the nights when the temperature dropped below freezing. The pad offered more coverage, lower weight, and a decreased pack volume than my old pad. However, some shortcomings really detracted from the enjoyment.The pad is obviously fragile so I tried very hard to protect it during transport, inflation, use, and deflation. Despite the extra precautions, it developed a leak. With difficulty, I found and fixed it, but believe I now have another one. The pad is as noisy as the reviews indicate. After 2 solid weeks of use, it may have been getting a bit quieter, but not much. A large pad has a HUGE volume and it takes a long time to inflate especially when you are trying to keep the pad from impaling itself on a nearby bush. Read more  thermarest neoair x-lite, This review is from: Thermarest NeoAir Xlite Sleeping Pad (Sports) i used this on a 4 night backpacking trip recently and it is currently my favorite new piece of gear. you can see through it, so i feel the need to be very careful in preparing the ground that will be beneath my tent, but it's worth the weight savings and comfort. i slept on gravel the last night and had no problem )in a tent with a footprint and put my sweatshirt under the torso area) i got the size large and slept like a baby. i love it and am very glad to have it. all the comfort of my thermarest expedition (large) at less than 1/3 the weight. |
