This chair is perfect for the beach, the park, working on your bike or writing a review. This folding chair is strong and sturdy. The fabric is PVC-free (which was not a big selling point for me - I like recycled products), but reinforced layers in seat and other stress points is a plus. The weight 7.0lbs is fine. It actually feels more like 3lbs. The seat width, depth and chair back height are perfect and seat is spaciousness for an average size male (I'm 5.11 and 185 lbs). The adjustable arms are an ergonomic plus. I loved being able to pull them tight when I wanted to sit up straight and loosen them when I want to "lay low." The sturdy telescoping frame is solid. I always worry about rivets where the frame meets the plastic "feet," but I have also never seen metal or aluminum feet in a folding chair - hmmm, something to consider? This chair is compact and light enough for me to comfortably carry slung over my back while biking. It was also super comfortable when I actually got to the beach and sat in it. The lowness is great for the beach, and it also makes it short enough to not cause problems slung over my back and on the bike. Now I don't know how long this will hold up, but it seems sturdy enough, and think it should last me a while. Love this chair!, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Kelty LowDown Chair (Sports) We have always liked the folding "camp" style for our beach chairs because they are easy to pack in our already overloaded car and a tight carry to and from the shoreline. We had a very good model several years ago that, after a number of beach vacations, finally broke. Since then, we have tried several different folding beach models and most have broken almost immediately. There seems to be some kind of issue with pressure points on the lower beach style, but the Kelty model has performed very well. We took these chairs on our last two week vacation, used them daily, and it looks like these chairs will be good for several more vacations. The Kelty is much more comfortable than the Kelsius narrow back beach chair that we also own and has been very reliable. Our experience with the Kelty chair has been a happy one, and we will probably by two more before we travel next year. |
