In contrast to the Japanese word "oyabun," which means boss, a kobun is a follower. An Oyabun can be a boss of an organized criminal group such as the Yakuza, but an oyabun can also be a boss of a legitimate group. Generally the term is used to refer to a boss of an organization that resembles some sort of a family.Simply, this is an excellent knife for its $30 price point. The plastic sheath retains the blade via friction and a protrusion inside the lip which the finger guard of the kraton handle catches on(the retention is certainly solid enough for upside down carrying). The belt clip on the sheath is removable, making the knife easily configurable for LBE gear, for you soldiers out there!! Although the blade was not razor sharp out of the box, it was functionally sharp, and after a few minutes on my waterstones, it now wears a shaving sharp polished edge.
