NO, its nowhere near 3800 lumins,Probably half that, but It's extremely Bright and more of a flood than a spotlight. I have a Pond 75yds from the house & it lights it up without difficulty. I also bought the rechargeable batteries for this unit. It looks to be Quality made, I'll just have to see how long it lasts, but when you compare price it's a no-brainer. I think the trick here is not to leave it on for long periods where the heat can degrade the unit. For the $$$$, It's Great !!! This will NOT give you the full brightness potential of the flashlight. In order to get the full brightness, you must order an 18650 extension tube for this model(I had to get mine direct from China). After the third battery in the extension is installed, it is remarkably bright. Just from my first test of it, light easily lit up a trees over 150 yards away and can probably reach much further. The only downside is that quality control has been mostly skimped on (this is why you get this light for $50, and not hundreds) This is shown in my unit as the circuitry going into protect mode for no reason when the light is clicked on and off many times over a short period of time. Just have to let it sit for a few minutes and then it works again. Other than that, Amazing light!
